In Korean, the word “we” can be translated as either “우리” or “저희.” These words are used in high form(존댓말) in Korean.
“저희” is used when the person you’re speaking to is in a higher position or rank than you. For example, when talking to a teacher, professor, or boss, you could say, “저희 팀은 앱을 출시했습니다.” This translates to “Our team launched the app.”
On the other hand, “우리” does not lower your position or rank. For example, when referring to your country, it’s best to use “우리 나라” which means “our country.”
It’s important to note that using “저희” when referring to one’s country implies that the country is lower in position or rank than the person you’re speaking to. In this case, it’s better to use “우리.”
